Hello,my name is Natalia Nowacka. I am an illustrator, draftswoman, graphic artist, and tattoo artist originally from Poland, currently living and working in Vienna.
For over a decade I have been involved in a wide range of artistic and craft-based practices, moving between traditional drawing, painting, printmaking, design, and tattooing. I graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts with a degree in painting and a specialization in drawing, although printmaking — especially etching and techniques inspired by historical engravings and copperplate prints — has become one of the most important parts of my artistic practice.
For many years I ran my own independent art studio, creating both personal and commercial work for clients from different countries. My projects included album covers, illustrations, posters, clothing designs, commercial graphics, and painted reproductions. Since 2018 I have also worked professionally as a tattoo artist, travelling between cities and countries as a guest spot artist.
My personal work revolves around nature, anatomy, ancient beliefs, spirituality, folklore, and apocalyptic imagery. I am particularly interested in the materiality of art, traditional techniques, and the craftsmanship behind the creative process. Alongside drawing and printmaking, I also create sculptural objects and installations using natural and organic materials.
I am a member of the Afterlife Workshop collective, where we create artistic and scenographic installations for festivals and music-related events.
I see my practice more as craftsmanship than a pursuit of artistic prestige. What interests me most is art created with patience, precision, and an honest connection between the work and the viewer.
