To make the creative process smooth, clear, and comfortable for both sides, please take a moment to read the following guidelines before placing a commission.
1. Turnaround Times
The turnaround time is agreed individually for each commission and depends on factors such as the scope of the project, the number of revisions included in the selected package, and my current commission queue.
Requests for a rush order or an “ASAP” delivery do not guarantee that the project can be completed within a specific timeframe.
If you need your artwork by a particular date, please let me know before we begin. I will then confirm whether the requested deadline is realistic and possible.
Delays caused by waiting for materials, information, feedback, or approval from the client may result in the delivery date being moved.
2. Revisions & Additional Changes
The number of revisions included in your commission depends on the package you have selected.
A revision covers changes that remain within the original project brief and agreed concept. Additional alterations, new elements, changes to an already approved concept, or any work exceeding the scope of the selected package will be charged separately.
If, after approving the project, you decide to completely change the original concept or direction, the additional work may be treated as a new commission or charged as an additional stage of the project.
3. Use of AI
I DO NOT USE GENERATIVE AI TO CREATE ARTWORK FOR MY CLIENTS.
AI is not used to create or modify illustrations, artwork, or typography. The final artwork is created WITHOUT the use of generative AI tools.
AI may only be used as a support tool for checking text for spelling, grammar, or language errors.
For this reason, I strongly prefer receiving real photographs and genuine reference materials rather than AI-generated images. This allows me to better understand your expectations and create artwork based on the actual appearance of a product, person, place, or object.
4. Client-Provided Materials
The client is responsible for all materials provided for the project, including photographs, artwork, logos, fonts, and other assets.
By providing these materials, the client confirms that they have the appropriate rights or permissions to use them and that their use within the project will not infringe upon the rights of any third party.
5. Starting the Project & Deposit
Work on a commission will begin only after the agreed non-refundable deposit has been received.
Discussing the project, agreeing on the details, or tentatively reserving a date does not mean that the commission has officially started.
The project slot is secured once the deposit has been received.
6. Project Approval
Before starting the artwork, the scope of the project and the main visual requirements will be agreed upon.
Once the final version has been approved, any further changes may be treated as additional work and charged accordingly.
The client is responsible for carefully reviewing the approved version before final files are prepared and delivered.
7. Communication & Feedback
Clear and timely communication is an important part of a successful collaboration.
Please provide feedback as clearly and specifically as possible. Whenever possible, I kindly ask that all requested revisions are collected and sent in one message.
Feedback should relate to the agreed project scope. New ideas, additional elements, or changes introduced during the process may require an additional quote.
8. Respect & Professional Communication
I value a friendly, respectful, and professional working relationship on both sides.
I do not tolerate insults, aggression, threats, abusive language, persistent pressure, or other disrespectful behaviour.
In the event of seriously inappropriate behaviour, I reserve the right to end the collaboration.
If the collaboration is terminated for this reason, any outstanding payment will be determined based on the amount of work completed up to that point.
9. Final Artwork & Source Files
Once the project has been paid for in full, the client receives the right to use the final artwork within the scope agreed upon when the commission was placed.
If you intend to use the artwork for an additional purpose that was not previously agreed upon — for example, a large-scale advertising campaign, commercial products featuring the artwork, large-scale printing, or transferring the artwork to a third party — please contact me beforehand.
Source/editable files (such as PSD, AI, etc.) are not included in a standard commission unless explicitly agreed upon before the project begins.
10. Portfolio & Publication
I reserve the right to showcase completed work in my portfolio, on my website, social media, and other promotional materials related to my work.
I may also submit and present completed works at exhibitions, competitions, art events, in art books, graphic design publications, catalogues, and other publications or materials related to my artistic and professional practice.
If a project is confidential or you do not wish for the finished work to be publicly displayed, please let me know before the project begins. For confidential projects, publication may be postponed until the confidentiality period has ended.
When showcasing or publishing the work, I retain the right to be credited as the creator of the artwork.
11. Working From the Brief
Before the project begins, the client is responsible for providing all relevant information, materials, and requirements concerning the artwork.
The more detailed the brief and reference materials, the easier it is for me to create a result that reflects your expectations.
Unlimited free revisions do not apply when the original expectations were not clearly communicated beforehand or when the client changes their original vision after receiving the artwork.
12. Final Payment
The remaining balance is due after the final version of the project has been approved and before the final files are delivered.
Final files will be provided once the full payment has been received.
A preview or watermarked version of the artwork does not constitute delivery of the final artwork or permission to use it.
13. Cancellation or Withdrawal
If the client decides to cancel the commission after work has begun, the paid deposit remains non-refundable.
If the amount of work completed at the time of cancellation exceeds the value of the deposit, I reserve the right to charge an additional fee corresponding to the work already completed.
If a commission is cancelled after the project has been approved or at a later stage of production, the final amount due will be determined based on the work completed up to that point.
Cancelling a commission does not grant the client the right to use sketches, drafts, work-in-progress files, or partially completed artwork.
14. Lack of Communication
The turnaround time also depends on timely communication from the client.
If the client does not respond for 7 days or fails to provide the necessary materials or information, the project may be put on hold and moved back in the commission queue.
Once communication resumes, a new estimated delivery date will be agreed upon based on my current commission queue.
A lack of communication from the client does not guarantee that the original delivery date or project slot will remain available.
